Why: Yamuna Expressway is not an option: Two-wheelers are banned or the status is disputed; car-mode maps suggest it — do not follow them.. Old Delhi–Agra highway → NH44 is the only legal, sensible route (465 km).
Day 4 · Hyderabad → Hampi (via Raichur)

Why: Route B via Raichur is 73 km shorter than Via Kurnool – Alur – Ballari but preferable because it is safer and it is less tiring, even though it needs a bigger detour.

Why: NH50 + NH48 via Chitradurga is 84 km shorter than Ballari – Challakere – Hiriyur (NH150A) but preferable because the experience is richer and it needs less of a detour.

What the research changed

Day 1 at a 07:00 start does not fit the 19:00 cutoff
Delhi → Orchha is ~465 km with a 90-minute Taj stop, a slow Delhi exit and overlay works on Agra–Gwalior (since 7 Sep 2026). A 07:00 start reaches Orchha about 19:30 — after sunset (≈17:57) and the cutoff — so the app recommends Plan B, Gwalior. Leave Delhi by ~05:00–05:30, or accept Gwalior. Decision rule: not out of Agra by 13:15 → stop at Gwalior.
Stay off the expressways
Two-wheelers are banned on the Delhi–Mumbai / KMP / DND-KMP expressways and the Yamuna Expressway status is disputed — use the old Delhi–Agra highway (Mathura Road). On Day 3–4 the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road and the PVNR Expressway also ban two-wheelers. Every navigation link in the app carries waypoints so a car-mode map cannot reroute you onto them.
Taj: 30–35 min inside, but ~95 min door to door
Open Wednesday (closed Fridays). Park at Shilpgram (East Gate); South Gate is exit-only. Bags, food, tripods and chargers are not allowed in, so 25 kg of luggage cannot come with you — arrange to keep it secured. Ticket ₹50 + ₹200 for the main mausoleum (₹5 online discount).
Orchha’s palaces close before you arrive
Jahangir Mahal, Raja Mahal and the chhatris run ~09:00–17:00, so an evening arrival means they are closed (and a 05:00 Day-2 start cannot catch them). What works after dark: Ram Raja Temple’s 20:00 evening aarti (no phones, cameras or leather belts/wallets inside) and a walk. The sound-and-light show (~₹100) clashes with the aarti — pick one.
Day 2 is ~620–644 km — it needs a hard gate
Leave Seoni by 15:15 or stay in Seoni (Plan B). NH44 through Sagar district (~162 km) was reported full of potholes in Sept 2026 and Narsinghpur’s diversions are potholed. Treat the Pench stretch as daylight-only: no stopping, no horn. No night ban could be verified — which is not the same as it being safe. Skip the Pench safari (core zones: reopening conflicts 1 Oct vs 15 Oct, ₹4,500–10,100 per jeep).
Day 3: be through Medchal by 15:45
Adilabad → Hyderabad now takes ~6 h by car (Kupti ghat, the Gudihathnoor underpass works, Toopran toll queues). Evening Hyderabad traffic averages ~15 km/h with flyover works on the Kompally–Suchitra and Paradise–Dairy Farm corridors. If the Seoni halt happened, Day 3 starts ~155 km short and Hyderabad in one day is ~660 km — re-plan with Plan B/C.
Hyderabad night: Charminar is exterior-only
The monument interior closes ~17:30 (and sources conflict about Friday prayers), so the 19:00 visit is lights, Laad Bazaar and Nimrah chai. The plaza is pedestrian — park only where an attendant is present and lock the bike. Lumbini Park closes at 21:00 (laser show 19:15), so the app offers a “lake first” order.
Day 4 route changed: via Raichur, not Kurnool–Gooty–Guntakal
The baseline (493 km) has rain-damaged NH44 Kurnool–Gooty (“4–5 very bad sections”, 4 Oct 2026) and an unfinished NH67 Gooty–Guntakal–Ballari (contract terminated at 86 %, re-tendered 2026): realistic arrival 17:30–18:30. The Raichur route (Jadcherla – Mahabubnagar – Raichur – Manvi – Sindhanur – Gangavathi, ~370–394 km) is ~100 km shorter and reaches Hampi in daylight. Caveats: ~40 km of roadworks Raichur–Manvi, speed breakers near Raichur, thin fuel/food — be through Raichur by 13:30 or halt there.
Hampi: where to park, sleep and watch the sun go down
Motor vehicles are not allowed in the Hampi Bazaar street (park at the public lot); Vittala parking is ~1 km away, ticket ₹40 — carry cash. Sunset is ~18:07 and it is dark by ~18:28: use Hemakuta Hill, skip Matanga at dusk. Sleep in Kamalapura (Hotel Mayura Bhuvaneshwari has a compound for the bike) rather than Bazaar/Janata Colony homestays — many unlicensed ones were ordered closed in Jul–Aug 2026. As a solo rider avoid isolated riverbanks (Sanapur, Anegundi) after dark and never leave luggage on the bike.
Day 5: Sunday + Navaratri + unfinished NH48
NH50 near Danapur is a single-lane work zone where 4 died on 19 Apr 2026; NH48’s 6-lane is unfinished with diversions. Be past Nelamangala by 16:30 (Sunday inbound traffic cost 45+ min on 23 Aug); if you are still at Tumakuru after 16:00, halt there. Two-wheelers are not banned on the Peenya flyover. Sleep on Tumkur Road (Thanga Orchid, 8th Mile, Ventura Grand) before the Peenya/Yeshwanthpur bottleneck.
Weather: Day 1 is the only watch day; heat is the real risk
IMD (6 Oct) warns of isolated thunderstorm, lightning and 40–50 km/h gusts over Delhi/UP on Day 1 — do the exposed miles before ~14:00. Days 2–5 are dry in every source (medium confidence). Heat (apparent 37–38 °C), poor Delhi/Agra air (carry an N95 on Day 1) and flood-damaged roads matter more than rain. First light is ~05:45–05:56: a 05:00 start is 45–55 min of pre-dawn riding.
Petrol is ~₹112/L, not ₹100; hotels are the weak line
Petrol today: Delhi ₹102, MP/Telangana/AP ₹114–118, Karnataka ₹112 (jumped in May 2026). The tank is 10 L (~400 km nominal), so refuel every 250–300 km. Reviewed rooms with secure parking cost ₹1,000–2,600 a night, and Fri/Sat nights are weekend nights. Expected trip ≈ ₹14,700–21,000; keep the ₹5,000–10,000 emergency reserve separate. Two-wheelers pay no toll on NHAI roads.
Your bike: tubeless-only, O-ring chain, 10 L tank
Front 90/90-17, rear 120/80-17, both tubeless (never fit a tube) — carry a plug kit. Cold pressure 27/29 psi. Chain slack 20–25 mm with O-ring-safe lube. Oil 10W-30 JASO MA2. Wear a clear visor from dusk to dawn and in rain/fog, with a Pinlock insert; do not stick tint or “anti-glare” films on it. “CE Level-2 armour” on a jacket certifies only the armour, not the garment.
Honest note: ~480 km days on a 125 cc are a fatigue risk
The plan has three days over 460 km. The app treats Plan B/C as normal, not as failure: if Day 2 ends in Seoni, spend Day 3 re-planning from there. A sixth day would remove most of the risk — the cost is one more night, roughly ₹1,500–2,500.
